In the last week we've had polls that show Huckabee either 1st or second in Iowa. We've had polls that show Romney either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in Iowa. We've had polls that show McCain either 2nd, 3rd, or 4th in Iowa.
We've seen national polls that show Romney tied for 1st place at 20% and in 3rd place at 13%.
I could go through dozens of conflicting points but you get the idea.
As we approach Christmas we ought to expect wackier polls as most voters tune out and the tiny minority that will accept a phone call from a polling firm becomes very very small.
I believe that we are in a time when polls will be increasingly less useful measures of voter sentiment. My only caveat to this is the Des Moines Register poll which only samples from caucus rolls. They have always been accurate about the results in the Iowa caucuses.
Besides them I'm tuning out polls and I'd suggest you do the same until December 29th.
