Aftermath

So, McCain won in Florida and was rather nice about it in his victory speech last night. He referenced his own brutal loss to President Bush back in the race of 2000. Obviously, he realizes that it is really painful and hard to loose at any point during the race for your party's nomination.

Well that's nice, and very presidential of him..now one has to ask the question, why does McCain reference Reagan so much in his speeches? He does that a lot, so does Romney, but McCain was especially big on that yesterday....doesn't he know that people don't see him as Reaganesque?

Hmm, well apparently, some people do think he is great and they might be conservatives, they just don't live inside the beltway. As my husband put it, 'we're weird,' meaning inside the beltway people just don't think like the rest of the country. Isn't McCain a beltway insider though too?

Here's another food for thought: If McCain and Huckabee ran together, there would be a fast and quick coalition to bring them down between the people who hate Huckabee and those who hate McCain even if the two groups don't like each other...and it wouldn't matter if Hillary was running for the Democrats. Both of them for some reason inspire hatred in the base that should vote for them. Times like these make you realize that sometimes you just have to laugh.

So that puts more pressure on next Tuesday to decide between McCain and Romney. In the meantime the big question is when will Giuliani pull out of this race? And when he does will he endorse McCain? What does he want for himself? Does he want to be attorney general? Hmmm.

AS for the Democrats, they have had it with the Clinton's and they know that Hillary would loose, well fear it, as the Democrats in town put it. All the more reason to support Barak Obama on their side....

Anyways, Edwards is finally quitting the race, Thank goodness. His pompous speeches on two americas, while his poor wife (who he cheated on!) stands by adoring him had become sickening.....Whooppeeee! No more silky pony, as Laura Ingaham calls him.

"why does McCain reference Reagan so much in his speeches"?

1. What Republican doesn't reference Ronaldus Maximus constantly? Hell Reagan has become a caricature of himself because of the misuse of his memory by ALL factions of the party.

2. Seriously, anyone who questions the McCain-Reagan connection needs to go back and understand Barry Goldwater. and his relationship to both Reagan and McCain.
