Super Tuesday is still three weeks away, but many people are wondering if there will be a definitive
Republican contender. While it is painful to see solid candidates like Romney whither away without wins so far, it could cause more trouble if he were to win a few more states besides Wyoming like say-Michigan.
Huckabee and McCain have done the best so far, but things could just get strange before it's over, the problem being that no one candidate has it all.
Huckabee-Too silly and too big government.
McCain-Acts grouchy and likes taxes-even if he hates to spend.
Romney-People think he is a robot.
Thompson-Looks and campaigns like he is tired. Oh yeah, that's right, he has Lymphoma and probably is tired.
Oh vey.
This is so distressing because we really need someone to come forward and gather up steam for the race ahead. There is time, one can always count on the current bickering between Obama and Hillary on who is more politically correct to be productive..for the Republicans.
Here is an article from Dave Freddoso on the current race and some factors to consider.
A quick bite from the article:
Consider:Even a win in Michigan next Tuesday cannot guarantee McCain anything further. He will probably do poorly in Nevada next Saturday and South Carolina will at least be a challenge.
Although it appears unlikely, no one can yet rule out a Florida resurrection by Rudy Giuliani.
Mike Huckabee could win Michigan and South Carolina, and then dominate the South on February 5, but is likely to lose badly throughout the West and the Northeast.
Mitt Romney could still win in Nevada next Saturday — a state with more delegates than either Michigan or South Carolina. He could keep it close or even stay ahead in the delegate count with a “second-place-everywhere-until-Super-Tuesday” strategy, since most of the early states award delegates proportionally or by congressional district.
And while it seems doubtful, it’s conceivable that Fred Thompson could win South Carolina after his debate performance.
Ugh. Well it all certainly keeps this blogger busy, think about other years when everyone knew what was happening...it was so boring.
