The day of the first caucus has arrived in Iowa, tomorrow should provide some interesting media for race watchers. Although nothing can compare to when Howard Dean let out his media car crash of a scream...which apparently was the fault of a microphone placed to close to him (which he was not aware of and therefore overshot his voice?? Hmm, this blogger is still skeptical.)
Anyways, the local ABC News just reported at noon that Romney is planning to have a victory rally early tomorrow morning on the cold cold plains of Iowa. He is that confident about the results of the caucus.
Drudge has a flurry of headlines and articles up today about the race. Although his focus seems to mostly be on the Democrats and the fact that Hillary is dragging....this blogger has to agree with the Novak headline that Huckabee could be disastrous for the Republicans.
The New York Times says that despite Democrats raising more money across the board, the RNC is still ahead of the DNC.
the Republican committee has $17.2 million on hand, compared to the $2.8 million the Democratic committee reported — should help the Republican presidential nominee in the fall.
So it seems that the Republicans are saving their sheckles for the big showdown, and maybe the race that makes the most sense as the R field is still too full. That said...
Fred Thompson is facing rumors about the end of his campaign. Umm yeah, that turkey is cooked.
McCain is doing well in New Hampshire,
McCain said his blunt talk answering questions on a variety of issues during town hall-style forums across the state helped him to pull even with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who's been the clear leader in the polls for several months.
Take a quick gander at what may look like a riddle of campaign thoughts at Pajamas Media.
Hmmm. This blogger says it is between McCain and Romney at this time.
