Finally! A TWO MAN RACE!

Romney and McCain got nasty last night during the debate at the Ronald Regan library in Simi California. (Say the word nasty to yourself like you were Miss Janet Jackson singing the song back in the 80's).

It was a good debate with McCain slinging shots at Romney and Romney laughing it off, while McCain was barely holding his temper. McCain has truly mastered the art of smiling smugly while he listens to the other contenders...it did get a bit tense when McCain and Romney would sling shots and then try to out talk each other... that must be a hard tactic to learn, to just talk over someone else for that long-so that the mediators from the network had to break it up.

Maybe we should just put them in a mud pit-gladiator style "Hraaah, I am going to be President!" and "NO! Take this! I AM going to be President!" so they can fight it out the old fashioned way.

Anyways, there is some relief in knowing that the Republicans are just as functional or in the case of the Clinton's (dysfunctional) as the Democrats at this time. We have two solid contenders fighting it out on the way to Super Tuesday.

Has anyone heard of a website called Trust Huckabee? It is interesting and supposedly independent, but they are running ads on Google.

The press release below is questionable......and at the same time, amusing, OH RON PAUL YOU ARE SO CUTE! Such a cute lil' ol' Ron Paul, talking about the dollar and the gold standard...

SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA – In 1976, Ron Paul was one of only four Republican Congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for President. In tonight’s debate at the Ronald Reagan Library, Congressman Paul once again showed that he is the candidate that stands for the conservative principles of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan.

Asked if Ronald Reagan would endorse him for President today, Ron Paul responded that he couldn't know that for certain. But Dr. Paul went on to say that he had been an early leader in supporting Ronald Reagan's election in 1976, and that Reagan had in fact endorsed him and campaigned for his election to Congress in the past.

Of Dr. Paul, Ronald Reagan once said: “Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country.”

No other presidential candidate can claim a conservative record that matches Dr. Paul’s:

Congressman Paul has never voted to raise taxes.
Congressman Paul has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
Congressman Paul has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
Congressman Paul has never voted to raise congressional pay.
Congressman Paul has never taken a government-paid junket.
Congressman Paul supported Ronald Reagan against Gerald Ford in 1976.

In 1978 and subsequent elections, Ronald Reagan endorsed Ron Paul and supported his reelection to Congress.
