Is this just more liberalism trying to push the premise of 'it's the economy stupid!' from the past?? This issue keeps creeping up and will continue to be an issue as Barack and Hillary eventually have to stop fighting with each other.
Geraldine Ferraro stepped down yesterday after making offensive comments about Barack Obama's candidacy. It was exactly what many Republicans (or free market buffs) have been saying for years that the Democrats are not really all about helping or giving equal rights to minorities.
They are in fact all about lip service and providing government intervention which hurts the minority groups. Handicaps the minorities, restrains them, ultimately looks down on them as inferior and expects them to step aside for the elitists. Rush Limbaugh pointed it out yesterday on his show-Ferraro's statements showed that the Democrats did not like Barack's achievements and basically felt he had overstepped his bounds.
All the rhetoric, Hillary's tears and all failed in the face of that moment. And maybe it was the turning point for minorities in America to see that the best way is the one that provides them with the chance-no promises-but the chance to live a free life. They can start a business without severe government restraint, they can run for office, and literally do what they please.
That is the meaning of liberty, no promises for the future, just hope.
