Did anyone watch the >debate last night? Did they find it weird that Hillary got tossed softballs on her desire to break the Bush tax cuts or let them expire as it was put? Which means she wants to raise taxes??? Ack. And why was Barack asked dumb questions about his patriotism...oh that's right I forgot because he's the golden child. A fascist golden child, but a golden child at the moment. Really, though the reporters questions just seemed well, dumb.
For the first 52 minutes of the two-hour, commercial-crammed show, Gibson and Stephanopoulos dwelled entirely on specious and gossipy trivia that already has been hashed and rehashed, in the hope of getting the candidates to claw at one another over disputes that are no longer news. Some were barely news to begin with.
Anyways, here in the capitol, a woman was arrested for celebrating Thomas Jefferson's birthday by dancing silently with her ipod at the Jefferson memorial. It's pretty depressing. There is film footage of it and you can check out several blogs on the event here.
Since when did it become okay to arrest someone for being happy?? And it was a protest moment done at midnight so it shouldn't have bothered anyone, but you can clearly see on the footage that the police were very unhappy...oh so not comforting these days.
On Tuesday night, The Heritage Foundation hosted a showing of the movie 'The Singing Revolution' about the way in which singing of all things helped end the communist's control of Estonia. James Tusty, one of the film's producers attended the event. He is half Estonian himself and and said that the project was something he could not have done if he had not been 'passionate' about the film's message.
The film will be shown in DC at the Landmark E Street Cinema starting on April 18th to the 24th. Here is the website. This is what Milton Friedman said about the movie
A wonderful film...that will unquestionably have the effect of strengthening the belief in freedom on the part of anybody who watches it.

Hello,,,
As far as the debate goes I think we are all forgetting something very important.
Those who this was geared towards were too stpuid to know the difference between a debate about issues or a debate for debates sake. This was shown on ABC and aimed at the lib's who are going to vote socialist anyway. So why mung it all up with any substance? A circus replete with elephant pooh and clowns is "much more gooder" tele...
Those of us who know the difference would never vote for these clowns anyway.
Unfortunately for us, McCain is still waiting to don his clown nose...
