Fry Day-Soggy Fry Up

It's the Friday Fry Up, and it's rainy and icky here...so not much to be said....

Last week this blogger met the local limited government candidate who is trying to run against Jim Moran. Amit Singh, you can check out his website at www.Amit08.com. The Republican primary is going to happen very soon between Mark Ellmore and Singh. It will probably really be of little interest since in the end Jim Moran has been in office for a long time and doesn't seem to be going anywhere...The best shot the Republicans had of getting him out of office was years ago in 2002-2003 when he was caught swearing in public and making anti semitic statements. Or maybe it was when the Congressman got caught fighting with a prostitute in the streets of Arlington one night...a few years ago...but no one seems to care now...

Anyways....

This week, there will not be much of a Fry Up, we are just frying one issue that pertains to Arlington, VA. Amit has been endorsed by one of the Presidential candidates that is often covered still here at Polireport.

Here is the email from the Singh campaign:

May 7, 2008 It seems that each time I say to a supporter, "Last week was the busiest week of the campaign," the following week outdoes it! There has been a flurry of endorsements, donations, and voter outreach taking place for our Campaign in Virginia's 8th District. The amount of press and media coverage we've received has been absolutely outstanding.

Recently we received the endorsement of Congressman and Presidential Candidate Ron Paul. Dr. Paul was even gracious enough to meet with myself and some members from my campaign team and film a piece of him and I outside of the U.S. Capitol. Take a look at it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6LbXZOUtVA.
It was an honor to accept the endorsement of not only a Presidential Candidate, but a true believer in limited government, fiscal responsibility, and personal freedom. We continue to receive coverage from numerous media and press contacts within the district and its come from a wide array of media.

Everything from local blogger Leslie Carbone: http://lesliecarbone.blogspot.com/2008/05/amit-singh-for-virginia-8.html

To nationally recognized magazines such as the American Conservative. They just released a story about the campaign, both online and in print. Take a look at the article here:

I need your continued help and support to reach the people of Virginia's 8th District. This Saturday, May 10th, the Arlington Neighborhood Day Parade will take place. Right in the thick of the parade will be our campaign and many of our supporters. Supporters of limited government and fiscal responsibility will be meeting up in Arlington on Saturday Morning to march in the parade behind the Amit '08 banner.

We are looking to get out as many supporters as possible to the parade to show the people of Arlington that our campaign has the tremendous support that I know it does. We will be meeting at 15th St at North Court House Road in Arlington. This is right near the Court House metro station on the Orange Line.

Please show up at 11:30 am sharp, Row D, group #46. We will have materials and campaign literature for you as well. Just look for your fellow supporters of this campaign. We will be easy to find, trust me!

Things continue to happen at a tremendous pace, and it is important we continue to make things happen at the rate it is. When it comes to my opponent we must continue to push forward so that voters throughout Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, and Fairfax see the stark contrast between us.

I am looking to bring limited government and lower taxes to the district while my opponent wants to expand government programs such as medicare and other social welfare programs

I believe in a strong national defense and putting forth sound solutions when it comes to foreign policy and respect for our soldiers, while my opponent continues to propose empty slogans that do nothing to strengthen our nation's security.

I believe that a Congressman should have a plan for helping the people in their district and should be ready on day one. Compare that to my opponent, who when asked what would be the first piece of legislation he would propose if elected, responded he, "hadn't given it any thought."
Thank you to everyone so far as we continue to bring our message to Virginia's 8th District. Please go to www.Amit08.com and keep up to date on the campaign. Please donate to our cause so we can bring this message to people throughout Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, and Fairfax.

I look forward to seeing you all at the Arlington Day Parade this Saturday, at 11:30am near the Court House metro. I promise to keep up this pace for as long as I have dedicated supporters like you. Thank you.

- Amit
